Latest data released by the General Administration of Customs on July 18 showed that China imported 20.32 million tons of aluminium ores and concentrates in June, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%. The cumulative import volume for January-June stood at 120.93 million tons, up 17.4% year on year.
China’s imports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products totalled 250,000 tons in June, down 17.4% from the same period last year, with the January-June cumulative imports reaching 1.88 million tons, a year-on-year drop of 5.1%.
China exported 270,000 tons of alumina in June, surging 55.1% year on year; cumulative alumina exports over the first six months hit 1.61 million tons, rising 19.8% year on year. Exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products amounted to 710,000 tons in June, growing 45.4% year on year, and the January-June cumulative exports reached 3.40 million tons, an increase of 16.3% year on year.
