For the majority of the past decade, the aluminum industry landscape in Central Asia has remained largely static: Kazakhstan's ERG industrial cluster efficiently produces and exports to the European market, TALCO sells widely but below its capacity ceiling, and the rest of the region consumes the products produced by neighboring countries. If the commitment of Oriental Hope progresses from the exploration and government approval stages to the construction stage, it will fundamentally change this landscape and introduce a previously unprecedented, large-scale greenfield value chain led by China in the region. Whether the 2028 timeline can be fulfilled is worth continuous tracking. Before that, the existing pattern remains stable.
